This pack includes 3 16oz bottles of Rotifers (please indicate if you would like S-type, L-type or a mix) and an 8 oz bottle of high concentration phytoplankton blend to feed them. This pack is perfect for feeding clownfish fry. You can use the product to stock a small tank for your clownfish fry, and keep them multiplying with the phytoplankton provided. Alternatively, you can culture them yourself in a 5 gallon bucket with the provided phytoplankton to feed your fry.
Rotifers are great for feeding the larvae of fish such as the clownfish. L-Type (Brachionus plicatilis) are larger, while S-type (Brachionus rotundiformis) are smaller, both reproduce very fast both sexually and asexually. Ideal for culturing and general feeding for fry, fish, filter feeders, corals and other critters.
Can tolerate full freshwater, but will not breed in freshwater.
Can be cultured as low as 1.004 salinity.
Please specify which type of rotifers you would like to receive, or you will receive a blend of both, well suited for feeding clownfish fry.
Please note: Rotifers should be fed with Nannochloropsis algae. Research indicates that rotifers fed Nannochloropsis, which is very high in highly unsaturated fatty acids, provide a far healthier feed for fry than rotifers fed in other ways.
